Beauty Timeline for the Modern Bride

Don’t overlook your beauty regimen amidst the flurry of wedding planning. The following timetable is filled with suggestions for wedding makeup and your beauty routine for the big day. There’s no ironclad schedule you must follow. But if you focus some time and attention on yourself, the results will be worthwhile. After all, every eye will be on you, and you want each of them to shine!

With 6 Months to Go:

  • Start to focus on your diet and good nutrition.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking six to eight glasses of water each day.

With 3 Months to Go:

  • Start a steady process of moisturizing and exfoliation to assure glowing skin and to help with your wedding makeup application.
  • Continue to follow your exercise regimen, proper diet and water intake.

With 2 Months to Go:

  • If you plan radical changes in your appearance, experiment now. Don’t make any drastic alterations within a month of your wedding.
  • Continue to follow your exercise regimen, proper diet and consumption of water.

With One Month to Go:

  • Have a styling “run-through” with your hair and makeup stylists. Take your veil or headpiece with you.
  • Confer with your bridal attendants about hair and makeup styles that will complement yours.
  • Buy any special wedding beauty supplies needed, including makeup, hair accessories, perfume, skin toner, shampoo and hair conditioner.
  • Test all wedding makeup, skin and hair products that you plan to use for allergic reactions.
  • Continue to follow your exercise regimen, proper diet and consumption of water.

With One Week to Go:

  • Start to limit your consumption of alcohol and sodium
  • Rest and relax as much as possible. A massage, aromatherapy or other stress-reducing activities are highly recommended
  • Have your final facial, and get your eyebrows shaped
  • Review your hair and makeup plans. Assure needed bridal accessories are available
  • Avoid foods you’re sensitive to, particularly those that cause welts, rashes or other skin conditions
  • Confirm your wedding-day appointment with stylists. Assure your bridesmaids and you are on the same style page
  • Continue to follow your exercise regimen, proper diet and consumption of water.

Day Before Wedding:

  • If needed, have a final manicure and pedicure.

On Your Wedding Day:

  • Don’t forget to eat (why fall out from hunger on this of all days?)
  • Do a touch-up, but make no major changes, between the ceremony and reception.
  • Be as beautiful as he knows you are

Following this helpful wedding beauty timeline will help insure that you look and feel your best on your wedding day!
